Parakeet by Marie-Helene Bertino
Did not finish book. Stopped at 24%.
I love the writing. I love the weirdness. I love the humor. But something about this viewpoint of someone who documents disability for court (which apparently is inspired by the author's own experience) and the way the viewpoint character is perceiving an insolated disabled character and that is interacting with the surreal symbolism is making me unwilling to let her have a go at the other themes I've seen mentioned in reviews like PTSD and suicide. Might or might not revisit at some point.
