Some quotes:
“The spectrum of our traumas can be as broad as our identities.”
“Time and death are much closer than any of us would like them to be.”
This book was truly a beautiful memoir. I think this book should be in today reading curriculum. Listening to the book on hoopla. The author read the book and did such a nice job. All the stories were good but also tough at times. There are tw/cw and the author does warn you of this upfront. The cousin that slept over was just wow. Also trans representation. The family, a BLACK family, actually being supportive and loving. That just warms the heart. A lot of us are not given that grace right away when coming out. The book also had funny moments. A story of someone’s life that leaves you loving them even though you haven’t met them.
Just go read or listen to the book.
