This was my 47th book finished in 2023.
I first watched True Blood in 2010, and 13 years later it was finally time to read the source material. I bought, read, and left behind this book in Bali, Indonesia.
So obviously you shouldn't take this book too seriously - it's wild! Just when you think it can't get anymore crazy, a new chapter begins.
One thing that bugged me was the way Sookie refers to her mind reading as a "disability".
My attention started to wane in the last third. The climax was exciting, but the book ended on a bit of a dull last 14 pages.
Ultimately I enjoyed the show more - the characters are more developed, interesting and likeable.
