 "A heartbreaking but beautiful novel."

This novel is about a 17 year old named Kiara who tries to keep her family under a roof. She is a very well written and multi-layered charater, just like the rest of the characters. This morally gray cast is so interesting and makes the book feel more real. Mottley's writing style is astonishing and poetic. It's not too hard and thereby easy to follow. This novel will definitely be a long time favorite.
