I'm writing this review with tears in my eyes. It is so special. I slugged through this book because of the emotion and composition that this book's entity is. When I picked it up, I knew that it was about WW2 and the civilians that simply lived in Germany under Hitler's reign. I didn't know I would get to know and love characters who would suffer, struggle, and survive.
