I thoroughly enjoyed Final Girls Support Group. It was full of action and grit from the very get go, and held my attention well throughout. I would have finished it much faster if I hadn't been reading it during peak retail Christmas time.
I think Lynnette's character development is really interesting and despite her flaws I found myself attached to her immediately. I liked that we got to see through her very tough shell and explore how much love she actually has for the other Final Girls.
It has a very interesting conversation throughout about women in horror, of course the monsters who hunt them as well as the fans of each. I don't think it brought anything new to the conversation that has been happening for a while now, but still provides food for thought and even made me reflect on my love of horror media.
The ending is very strong and left me feeling teary eyed and empowered. Although the last plot twist unfortunately much of a surprise.
I definitely recommend it to anyone who's interested in horror, especially the slasher genre.
Grady Hendrix is very surely becoming a favourite author of mine.
