As Long as the Lemon Trees Grow by Zoulfa Katouh
5.0
First of all, I'm really excited to read this book bcs all my booksta friends who have read the book said it's really good yet hearbreaking.
The story set in Syria, where the Civil War breaks. The girl Salama work as a pharmacist, she volunteer to helping war victims in a hospital. Lowkey she knows, she also suffered and hoped for freedom and get out of this miserable condition. Then she met Keenan, A man who is deeply in love with his homeland and willing to do anything for the freedom of the Syrian people. Together they'll seek for their freedom.
The book is precious and give so much roller-coaster emotions. Do you believe that it just took 5 chapters to make me cried bcs it breaks my heart so much? And on the next chapters, it's getting harder, so much tragedies, pains, discouragements, but also hopes. Many scenes that kept me from reading bcs I don't have the heart for it..
