Persuasion by Jane Austen
5.0
As usual with Austen, I struggled a bit to start this book. I need a good chunk of reading time all at once to get used to the style of writing before I can really get into the story. Fortunately by now I know it's worth it!
I loved this book. Anne is a sympathetic character, and I love her personal arc of discovering what she values in her companions. In fact, as well as being a good read just for its story, I feel like Persuasion is noticeably well-crafted. Secondary characters have their own little side-arcs which are not only satisfying in themselves, but also have some influence or other on Anne and Captain Wentworth's story - it just all weaves together so nicely.
