24 Hours in Ancient Egypt: A Day in the Life of the People Who Lived There by Donald P. Ryan

Ancient Egypt is just one of those topics I was interested in but didn’t know that much about.
Just as the title describes, you are transported to a day in the lives of the ancient Egyptians. Each chapter is narrated by a different character living the same day, so sometimes the events of the life of one can affect the life of another. We get the point of view of a carpenter, a fisherman, a priest, and even the pharaoh himself and the people closest to him. Each character serves a vessel to explain how the average person in that position would’ve lived like.
I have a whole thread on Bluesky about little fun facts I found while reading this book, I was just so fascinated. The book was very easy to follow and even funny sometimes. Overall, I just think this is a great introduction to the history of Ancient Egypt in general.
