Little Fires Everywhere by Celeste Ng

5.0

A rich white couple try to adopt a Chinese baby, emotions run high and much drama ensues.
This book perfectly exemplifies white privilege, white fragility and white saviour complex, all rolled into one, with a good dose of the total lack of awareness of different experiences and culture that often seems to accompany privilege. It is SO well written and I struggled to put it down. My one niggle was wanting a little more closure at the ending.
