The Daughters of Ys by M.T. Anderson
5.0
Yay ARCs! I like the manner in which Anderson re-meshes versions of the Breton folktale that contain Dahut as a character with the opera based on the story, Le Roi d'Ys (where Rozenn comes from). It teased out a whole new take on Dahut, and set in motion such a dark and complex relationship between the sisters. If you love the myth of Ys (like me), this has something new to savor in it. And if you're unfamiliar with the folklore, this is wonderful on its own.
