I'm honestly not sure what to think about this one. It was enjoyable and imaginative and generally well written. And the spooky atmosphere had me scared that something would reach out from under the bed to grab my ankles during a late-night bathroom run. As a thirty year old adult, I haven't felt that in a while so it was pretty fun.

But I don't buy into the romance - they weren't around each other enough to make it even remotely believable. Also, the ending felt really unresolved. No spoilers, so I'll leave it at that.

Overall, it was a fun read that I don't regret and would recommend to those who are interested in a vibe like The Village.
