Pain in the Axe by Daphne Elliot

4.0

Gus, the grumpy head of the Hebert lumber company, discovers that his super successful ex-wife from 20yrs ago is the one who bought his family’s company (after his dad almost brought it to ruin) and insisted he stay on for a year. Chloe wanted to hurt him like he hurt her by ending their brief, passionate marriage.

Of course the love they had back then comes roaring in, making them rethink things like history, revenge, and the future.

Great secondary characters around her. His family is interesting and layered.

Main characters are in their 40s.
