Something Will Rise
Review of the Amazon Original Stories Kindle eBook edition (July 1, 2024), released simultaneously by Audible Originals in audio format (July 1, 2024)

Radimir said, exasperated, "So now you're willing to entertain the thought that we are up against something that can't be explained?"

The team of black-ops mercenaries is now down to five "living" members in this continuing series. But it now appears that some past members may be counted as "undead" and are joining forces with The Boy. So it is turning into a mixed vampire and zombie tale. Someone on Audible called it "the strigoi version of [b:The Siberian Incident|49089946|The Siberian Incident|Greig Beck|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1575442295l/49089946._SY75_.jpg|74525901]" (2019). I still think it is inspired by F. Paul Wilson's [b:The Keep|62571|The Keep (Adversary Cycle, #1)|F. In any case, Del Toro and Hogan keep the chills coming and i'm boosting my rating accordingly.

Risen is the fourth of six stories in The Boy in the Iron Box series released on July 1, 2024 by Amazon Originals & Audible Originals.
