A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens

5.0

This is a classic for a reason and that is because it is a wonderful christmas story.
Not the typical one of any kind: not the sad and overly dramatic or tear-jerking one or the overly happy and extremely cheery one.
But a beautiful mixture of teaching a lesson (of what is important in live) and also pointing out the moments that Christmas can bring that chance your and other peoples lives.

Or that is what i took away from it anyways!

This is defiantly one of the best dickens i have read so far.
Not overly wordy or unnecessary descriptive in moments that don't need it, just focused on the actual plot and the actual characters and it was wonderful!

I highly recommend this not only as a christmas story, but also as a start into Dickens books.
Because it is the perfect mixture of all his best writing qualities - character driven and deeply showing the flaws and faults of them, descriptive without going overboard and telling an actual story, while also showcasing the social norms of the time!

It was a beautiful read, and one i am sure i want to repeat many times in the future!
