The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
5.0
First of all, I just want what Patroclus and Achilles have. Is it too much to ask?
This is the deep, soulful romance that I’ve been looking for. Everything was so poetically written, I felt so in love the whole time.
From chapter 30 on to the last pages, I cried, stared at the wall, and picked up a lot of realizations - it was as if I could see what’s in Achilles’ mind. Pride, reputation, selfishness, revenge, bereavement and grief were the key themes. I cannot forget how much fury and sympathy I had for Achilles all at once.
Kudos to Madeline Miller for helping me discover my appreciation for books based on Greek mythology because I think after this, I’d love to read some more.
