Noticed that I forgot reviewing this. Was right at the end of October and it just kinda slipped through.
Anyhow when I started this book out I thought I would like it a lot more. I got invested in the compelling main character pretty fast and she gave me some pretty cool Veronica Mars vibes with her witty dialogue and just being her fathers protege but ignoring his advice and kind of doing her own thing even though that might not always be super healthy. :)
I also got intrigued by the somewhat darker Mystery about peoples recurring nightmares and the wizards (the MC and her father) being the villages protectors against these nightmares.
Is the book went on I felt thought that its wit got lost and also the "YA, romance-y" subplot took a more center stage and I didn't really enjoy that.
The Mystery remained compelling with some nice little plot twists that I did not see coming but in general I liked the first third of this book way more than the rest which was just kinda meh.
