I loved the show first but after reading this I realised how much they left out. The last quarter I really enjoyed as we got to know more about Diana's family and her dreamy, spooky house in Madison.

The deeper alchemical symbolism of Diana and Matthew's relationship is better explained here than in the show. I look forward to starting book 2 soon.
