This is a slow burn romance that works really well because the chemsitry and the tension between the two main characters are palpable from their very first scene together. They feel like a perfect match, sharing similar priorities and interest, as well as a mutualy drive and obsession with work. Gabe is incredibly swoon-worthy, and I loved how well both characters communicated with each other throughout the story.

When they are forced together by the fake dating scheme, their slow journey toward love feels realistic and believable. You can see them slowly fall in love, start trusting each other and lose the battle with their self control. The slow pace never felt frustrating because their motivations and the reasons they were hesitant about a relationship made sense. And then after all the waiting for them to get together, we get some of the steamiest scenes I have read in a book.

I also appreciated the thoughtful plus-size and queer representation, as well as the way the story addressed sexism within the Latinx community.
