Up from the Grave by Jeaniene Frost
3.0
Sadly... I didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would.
A bit too predictable, too melodramatic at times, too many paper thin developments... I couldn't delve into the story or connect with the characters as much as I'd like, and the crazy aspects I used to eat up tasted kinda bland for me this time.
I'm not sure how I wanted the series to end, but it's fitting that Frost touches back on the race issue that had appeared since the first book for the final conflict. In the end, knowing and accepting one's self are the main themes of this series. Watching Cat's development and struggle with her identity has been an engaging, intense, and at times amusing experience. I can't say I've read too many heroines who is as determinedly homicidal as Cat.
I'm glad the series has concluded where it has. Overall, I've had a lot of fun with Cat and Bones.
Perhaps now is the time for a change in my reading preferences.
