Acts of Service by Lillian Fishman

3.0

I found this both interesting and frustrating. I found the protagonist too self-righteous to relate with and far too deluded to sympathize with. The middle lulled for a bit but the ending was a good pick up. Overall it was a decent read but was not anything particularly striking

Quotes I liked:
"I wanted to be brand-new, to experience love and pleasure as though I had never been hurt and never felt fear"
"Love seemed to occupy the room with us, as concrete as a body, generous and inextinguishable"
"My body was crying out that I was not fulfilling my purpose"
