This book is the proof that if the writing is good the grade doesn't matter. It's so annoying to see the excuses some people make when it comes to under developed YA books. A bad plot and even worse or repetitive writing shouldn't be excused, just because it's not an epic fantasy book. No matter if your target audience is younger, you can still write a great book which everyone can enjoy. (Sorry for my aggressive complaints, but I just finished the Caraval trilogy before starting this, and I still haven't recovered)

This book was amazing, and I'll definitely check out Holly Black's other works as well after I finish this trilogy. Loved the characters and I also loved the darkness. I hope everything will go well for Jude, can't wait to start the second book. ❤️
