It's an enjoyable read once you actually decide to just take time to sit and read it. I find He Yu and Xie Qingcheng's dynamic quite interesting. As well as He Yu's crush on Xie Xue. His feelings for Xie Xue seem to be more of a fascination rather than love. Though it's hard to say because even in the environment he grew up in, he didn't exactly get a lot of love(At least that's how I interpreted it in the flashbacks).
I would've wanted a bit more a distinction on when a flashback is introduced. I can tell where it ends, but when the flashbacks start, it's sort of integrated with what's already being said. Making it slightly difficult to distinguish when a flashback starts. But even that isn't too much of an issue.
(I definitely got a bit peeved with He You at the end, but I can't even really fault him because Xie Qingcheng was the one who broke the rules.)
I'm excited to get the next volume when I have the time.
