New. Favorite. CoHo book. I know I just said that about Heart Bones, but that was before Colleen went and exploded my brain with Layla. From start to finish, I knew I was in the hands of a master. The elegant story structure, perfectly subtle foreshadowing, morally complex characters, heart-pounding tension, and gut-punch of a plot twist were executed so well that I felt as if I must have been possessed by a ghost who was refusing to let me stop reading. Five spooky stars for this triumph of storytelling.
