Friday On My Mind by Nicci French

3.0

Okay, well, this definitely wasn't my favourite Frida Klein book.
Don't get me wrong, it's still a very good thriller and solid page-turner (as can be proved by my entire Saturday afternoon spent reading it because I just NEEDED to know what would happen next).

But Frieda's behaviour annoyed me so much! It was so reckless and risky and it's only sheer luck she didn't end in jail or worse. So many things in that story felt implausible (and even a bit off-character when it comes to Frieda) and then, in the last 15 pages, out of the blue, appears a guilty person you would never have thought of. Okay, sure, sometimes it's a good thing not to be able to guess who did it but in this case, it felt rushed (to me, at least).

The one thing I really enjoyed about Friday On My Mind is
the final twist about Dean Reeves. Wow, I didn't see that one coming and this time, I say it as a compliment
.

So all in all, not the best in the series but I can't wait to know what Saturday will bring us!
