One False Move by Harlan Coben
4.0
Brenda Slaughter needs help. Her father is missing and she’s now a vulnerable person who may also be a victim of a kidnapping too. Myron Bolitar has been brought in to become her bodyguard.
Not my favourite, but still again a very enjoyable read. I feel like despite this being the fifth instalment, I still find out more and more about the characters. Win still is my favourite character, however finding stuff out about Myron disappointed me. I feel like because Win’s openly honest about what he is, discovering things about Myron upset me a bit because his character seems so loyal and honest, guess he’s not. I did overall love the book. I found the plot to be different to the others but also similar.
Again, I loved the fact that we learned more about Myron’s backstory. I really enjoyed discovering what Myron’s life was like before he became a sports representative. I felt like in this book, Myron was quite paranoid. It was nice to see a different side to him.
Looking back, I felt like it was obvious who the culprit was. I definitely think I overlooked who it was because I wasn’t very engaged with the book. Yes, I loved it, but it was quite similar and I feel like i’m always enticed at the beginning of the book and at the end but the middle of the book is where it gets fuzzy and I do lose interest.
Definitely going to read the books and continue the series because I am invested.
