So second time around worked… I loved this. I was completely locked in and had all the feels. I still think this is one of the most successful love triangles out there. I have no idea how to spell anyone’s name, but I’m hoping that Dorian does turn out to be as sweet as he is in this book so I don’t have to hate him like Tamlin.

This book took longer than it should have. It’s a slow burn and left me feeling MEH!

LIKES:
1) loosely a Cinderella retelling. There were moments I felt that and kind of wanted more
2) a well done love triangle
3) how it’s fantasy, but still when magic was introduced it felt novel. I loved how everyone reacted to the magic in the story

DISLIKES:
1) TOO SLOW! I missed a ton of the story because I zoned out (and it wasn’t the narrator)
2) too many POVs I couldn’t keep it straight at times
3) I read this as a buddy read and people would say OH MY GOSH, Chapter 31… and I had just read it and wasn’t shocked or impressed. What am I missing? Why was everyone so amazed with certain reveals that didn’t even register.

I’m reading the next book and bought Assassins Blade, so I’m praying ir gets better!
