This is a beautifully told and thoughtful memoir that made me cry in multiple places. I love how it is a combination of a daughter's research and asking questions of her family members. Mom's version of the story being different from dad's...It includes her own changing perspective, over the years as she learns more about her family's history, and when she has a child herself. She captures so beautifully what we inherit from our family, what gets carried with us.
