brb, I've got to make this book & genre my entire personality for at least a month and that's gonna take some preparation ... (jk, I've already done all my homework and it's happening)

So this one has been on my radar for quite some time now, and I can say with 100% utmost honesty that this was a #BookstaMadeMeDoIt read - and I'm so glad I did!

It. Was. LOVELY. COZY. FUNNY. COMFORTING. PURE JOY.

It's one of those books that you just want to nestle down into a pile of blankets and pillows in front of a fire and not come up until you're finished reading. I had such a stupid grin on my face for so much of this story, and whenever Thimble was on the page I was just a mess. Seriously, my cheeks hurt from grinning as that little rattkin ran around the kitchen.

"I'll look forward to it, Mister ...?"
He stared up at her, and in a solemn whisper, said, "Thimble."

(Seriously though, he's one of my all time favorite characters of any book ever. Just wait, you'll see.)

Real talk though: It's just good, pure, wholesome, fun. The world building is nominal, but the atmosphere in the coffee shop is A+++. The character arcs are mostly there, but it's the relationships and the way this found family interacts. The dialogue is sparky and fun. The premise is easy to follow and - dare I say it again? - just FUN.

Already bought the UK edition of this one and I will ABSOLUTELY be on the lookout for more in this series!!
