Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas

I am so sad to have finished this series and that I’ll never get to relive it again for the first time.

The series overall is very reminiscent of Game of Thrones and maybe that is why I loved it so much. There were few characters that I struggled with and found myself really attached to almost everyone. Even found myself disappointed that we didn’t get more of some characters (cough, cough Fenrys…) throughout the series.

The first 25% of the book had me wanting to skip certain character perspectives just so I could get to Aelin or Manon related chapters. The rest of the book had me just wanting to skip over Aedion’s storyline. I never disliked his character, but I really struggled with him and Lysandra in this book.

I thought there were great twists, but some fell flat (I.e…what happened to Nox?!) The action sequences were a little long and drawn out but overall I was so satisfied with this book and it even had me sobbing in the end.

Pretty sure SJM can do no wrong and I hope we get more Throne of Glass in the future.
