I loved this series! This is a manga that you can reread and discover new symbolism and details each time. I love Makima as a horrifying and manipulative female villian. She is probably the scariest and best written female character I’ve read in a manga! I think I disliked Denji in the beginning and grew to like him more as the series progressed, but I enjoyed and appreciated his evolution as a character. The relationship between Makima and Denji was the strongest tension within the story and it was so horrifying and intriguing watching it unravel! This is a manga that you could talk about for hours and it’s taken days for me to digest after finishing part 1!
I enjoyed how Tatsuki Fujimoto played with convention sexual tropes from shounen manga and made them gross and depressing, haha!
Overall, amazing manga and I will continue reading after more of part 2 comes out!
