The Sea Queen by Linnea Hartsuyker

5.0

I loved this book so much more than the first one.

Svanhild's character developed into an amazing leader, her brother a nuanced and troubled one. Even the relationships, that may, upon description, annoy the modern mind, seem reasonable, caring, understandable.

The amount of research required to understand the history (or semi legendary account and make it work) and the geography is remarkable.

A beautiful book for those interested in Viking Age Adventure.
