I enjoyed reading this novel, the characters were likable and the project of depicting their lives over fifty years is interesting. However I felt that the construction of the novel lacked of fluidity. The numerous time jumps, of ten years sometimes,are confusing at times. Having to get to know the characters all over again at each chapter can be difficult and it distracts the reader from getting the message of the novel.
