Okay, books like these with such beautiful covers, is EXACTLY the reason why I will always be a staunch #coverhoe *heart eyes*

Set in a small town, Ghost Wood Song, is a story about secrets, murders and ghosts being brought to life by a fiddle playing young girl, Shady Grove – I swear, I am not gonna lie – I just couldn’t stop listening to the audiobook, and if I couldn’t read the audiobook; I ended up reading the eARC on my kindle – the lyrical writing flowed seamlessly, no matter what medium I used; and I swear I fell in love with Erica Waters as an author, by the time I was done with the book.

Beautifully and perfect pace of the plotline made it absolutely easy to relate to the characters, especially considering that fact that this was told in a single PoV – which ya’ll know becomes very hard for me to relate with – but with Shady, it was the ease with which I could familiarize myself & most importantly, empathize with her as an individual had me drowning in all the feels!

There is an amazing LGBTQ rep – the romance, yes there is a sort of love triangle – but the comfort and ease with which the angst, the emotions and the courtship; (yes, the courtship *cue the aww’s) was realistically and wonderfully handled. I usually tend to get irritated with YA characters when it comes to romance, but I actually enjoyed the romance aspect of the plotline!

Ghost Wood Song is YA mystery that is creepy, haunting and suspenseful, though predictable in the end, still had the ability to give me goosebumps right till the end – a definite must read for those who love their mystery with a hint of paranormal but also enjoy a beautiful lyrical writing style as well!
