Plenty of humans were monstrous, and plenty of monsters knew how to play at being human.

OH. MY. GOD.

that’s the only coherent(ish) thought i’ve had since finishing this. i stayed up until ... i don’t even know when. 4am? just to finish this. it was physically impossible to put it down.

i kept hearing that ve schwab’s writing was top tier, unmatched, insanely good. and it’s not that i doubted that, i just wasn’t expecting the storytelling to be so, how do i say this, fucking amazing.

victor vale! victor vale! victor vale! and mitch! and sydney! i loved them so much. we love a good morally gray character. and we got three!
oddly enough i also really liked eli’s character? i found myself rooting for him in the flashback parts? just another testament to schwab’s writing, really.
and barry lynch! he’s a little irrelevant in the big picture but i was laughing at his ... well, iykyk.

don’t even get me started on the concept of the story in general. the past science geek in me was loving the experiment parts. and just imagine that EOs are real? that any of this could actually happen? thrilling. terrifying, but thrilling.

i wish i had more to say. i do. but really there is nothing to say. there are no words for how much i loved this book. still very few coherent thoughts.

just do yourself a favor and READ THIS. immediately. thank me later.
