Assassin's Quest by Robin Hobb

As I was reading this book, I couldn’t stop thinking about this book. I will forever thank Reagan from Peruse Project for getting me into this epic fantasy series as the level of immersion is unreal. When I read these books I’m immediately transported to be surrounded by ancient mountains, or in a barn with wet boots, or scrabbling away from multiple enemies… this book series really transports me away from reality.

This whole series follows FitzChivalry; a bastard born to the late heir to the crown as he is shaped from the shadows to serve. I obviously can’t get into much for fear of spoilers but I can tell you that the final instalment of this series (one of five in the whole book world) doesn’t leave any glaring questions unanswered.

This final instalment also does feel more like a quest than the previous two, which makes perfect sense when I remember the title haha. I guess I mention this because although there is a lot of action, it’s definitely more subtle than in the previous ones!

Triggers include depression, war, PTSD, memory loss, poisoning, sexual harassment, death , and murder.
