Wow, No Thank You. by Samantha Irby
3.0
Good thing I was reading this while watching how the US Election unfolds. The title is very apt for the situation and it like asking, “Another 4 years? Wow, No Thank You!”
OK going back to the book, this is the first time I read essay collections and it always makes me think of school essays, those essays you were asked to do with three thousand words. I would probably prefer short stories but this one brought me so many laugh out and smiling moments.
Wow, No Thank You is a collection of essays about the author’s life experiences. A very sarcastic take on life, self-deprecating at its best. There are lots relatable moments, some are too graphic for me and lots of putting herself down too much. Some essays are funny at its best and some are way too long but enjoyed reading it if just to take away your anxious feeling!
