This was an intense and cleverly written historical urban fantasy.

I loved the concept behind the magic of using silver bars for translation and reading the clever ways this was applied in society. (Obviously NOT cool to use them as tools for colonization and perpetuating war.)

I fell for our cast of main characters, and the TWIST got me so bad!!!!

This read will be perfect for fans of etymology, languages, 1800s London, and/or rooting for the "underdog".
