This is the start of the next duet in the Runaway Omega series and focuses on Kitania, an omega that was the victim of abuse and trafficking. Tropes and themes include omegaverse, why choose (MMFMM), praise, mafia romance, prior abuse, scent matches, hurt/comfort, touch her and die, and nesting. Please see content warnings for dark themes and spice content (all MF).
The Lovely: I loved the pack - they’re dark, dangerous and maybe a little crazy, but they love and respect their Omega. Each of them have their own past and role in the pack making it easy to keep them straight in my head. I like how they treat each other with respect too. I hope we get to see more of their interactions with each other in the next book.
Also Lovely: While very much a story of healing and romance, I appreciated the Mafia plot and how that drive the pack’s actions. The villains are absolutely vile and gross, and I can only hope they get a dose of karma. A very Alpha crafted dose.
Rating: 4.5/5 Stars 3/5 Flames
Recommendation: I received an early review copy and my thoughts are my own. Well, Harper has done it again. I knew - I just knew - the ending would be a cliffhanger. But, wow, that was chaos on a cliff! I was legitimately gasping. Not sure I’ll survive until book two - at least not without a re-read or two. I love how the author writes her characters and their emotions. If you like omegaverse with a heap of hurt/comfort and alpha-y but respectful packs, check out this series.
