I love Felix. I love Ezra and Leah, and even Declan. I want to hug every one of them and tell them how worthy and how loved they are. I love the representation in this book. I love that it’s obviously YA, but it isn’t pandering. It’s real and raw and tackles difficult issues head on.

I wish every kid would read this book as a do and don’t guide for being inclusive. I wish every parent would read this book as a do and don’t guide for being accepting and how to raise children that are accepting. I wish everyone else would read it and see how important our words and expressions are, both to those we know and love and to strangers we may only pass by.

I wish you would read this book and tell me I’m not the only one who feels it’s significance.
