This is a dark book, please check triggers if you need them and heed the author's warning. Also, she recommends you read these books in order, as the stories are connected and we are spoiled for the previous books.
This book is about Xander and Kim. We know that Xander hates Kim, but we don't know why. Here we get to see this hate and explore it. We also get to see the pain Xander experiences when Kim is experiencing her pain. This book centres on them both experiencing their issues and struggling to deal with them.
This book made me sob, made me cry, made me gasp and made me cry some more. This is about so much more than the romance between Xander and Kim, it is about secrets, self-harm and healing.
In the previous books, I was always curious about why Xander was so mean to Kim. I hated him and Rina does an excellent job of revealing why, and it made sense to me. It made me feel for him and experience the hurt he was feeling. Kim went through it in this book. She is experiencing so many things and the author did a good job exploring it.
I admit this book (and the series so far) has been over the top, but I have loved them. I am going to keep picking them up and reading this entire universe. If you like a good bully romance, with a lot of emotion, this would be the book for you!
