Nora Goes Off Script by Annabel Monaghan
3.0
3.5 ⭐ Unconventional romance novel, which irked me at first. It took me some time to warm up to the setup of the story. Even though it isn't formulaic or overly tropey, it's not realistic either, and I got tired of suspending my disbelief about the main characters. Nora lets a celebrity (ie complete stranger) live with her and her children. Leo (the celebrity) forgets his whole professional life so he can spend time with a middle-aged single mom and her kids. This is ludicrous for many reasons that I don't need to elaborate on because duh. Then Leo disappears to go back to work and the book goes on and on and on as Nora becomes a heartbroken mess. That happened almost halfway into the book and led me to lose interest. It reminded me of reading New Moon because I swear four hundred pages of that book were Bella being pathetically depressed over Edward. Anyway. This book redeemed itself somewhat because I liked the twist and the happy, tender ending.
