The Secret Seaside Escape by Heidi Swain
5.0
Book review for The Secret Seaside Escape
I was very lucky to be given this ARC of one of my favourite authors.
This book was exactly what I needed after being taken down with a cold. I was captivated from the first page and read this being house bound over the weekend. It was the perfect medicine that I needed. Full of warmth, romance, drama and wonderful characters. I absolutely loved everything about this charming beautiful story.
The plot was brilliantly thought out and I loved the little secrets that kept popping up.
The story was set in the wonderful seaside resort of Wynmouth and you really feel like you were there with the characters. I love where Heidi has got her inspiration from and I really need a trip to the Norfolk coast now to see this wonderfulness for myself.
I loved the characters just to touch on a few; Tess the over worked career women needing a break who runs away from her dad and work for her own well being. Sam the dishy pub landlord who Tess grows close to. Joe the intriguing bad boy farmer back in town after so long away who also grows close to Tess. Sophie the café owner and mother figure who takes good care of Tess. PS how delicious were her food and drinks. I was even sitting at work on Monday thinking of what the characters were up to as if I knew them!
I love Heidi’s work and always will buy any new book of hers out. Think back to Snowflakes and Cinnamon Swirls at the Winter Wonderland, The Christmas Wish List and The Cherry Tree Café to name a few of my favourites. If you haven’t read these then you need to
