This is SUCH a good middle grade book. I read it as an assignment for my children's lit class, and it's safe to say I will be bringing this to my future classroom Library. The way in which the characters are able to discuss and experience emotion is phenomenal. I am glad to see some mental illness representation in the middle grade genre. Characters should experience complex and sometimes scary emotions- because real kids do the same.
