The Frugal Wizard's Handbook for Surviving Medieval England by Brandon Sanderson
4.0
The handbook: not ideal if you want to learn how to actually survive medieval England. Two stars.
The plot: engaging and twisty. Four stars.
The magic: confusing and unclear. Two and a half stars.
The main character: incredible, well developed, and wow what an arc. Five stars.
The relationships: good, except they all grew over less than a week so I struggled to believe them. Three stars.
The Anglo-Saxon poetry: yes please. Five stars.
The names: why are people born in ~2100 named Jen and Ryan?? One and a half stars.
The rating system: hilarious and clever. Four stars.
My review of this book: inept but hopefully funny. Let me know what you think. I'm giving it three stars for now.
