Bitter House by Kiersten Modglin
5.0
When Bridget’s parents died in an accident she had to move in with her grandmother, Vera, who was well….bitter. After being kicked out after graduation Bridget has not stepped foot in the house nor seen her rival Cole. Years later, Bridget receives a call that Vera has died leaving her and Cole the family mansion and she is filled with dread. Returning to Bitter House is the last thing she wants to do.
Bridget is determined to wash her hands clean of her grandmother and the house as soon as possible. But when she arrives to claim the estate, Bridget soon starts to receive mystery correspondences that might change her mind on selling the house and possibly her grandmother. What will the letters reveal and will Bridget inherit more than just a house?
Another amazing book by Modglin! In an ultimate gritty scavenger hunt that might lead to death. This is such a fun, quick bite size thriller. Did I stay up all night and read this because I could not put it down…..YES! I love how Kiersten makes her readers dive into the definition we may have of home and how our relationships form our lives. What would you do if you found out someone in your family may have done something illegal for the greater good?
*Thank you to Kiersten Modglin for the ARC copy. I am freely leaving my honest review.
