Having read all of the other books in the Foxbrooke series, I appreciated all of these little extra stories being compiled in one place. While I knew that the extra epilogues existed and I could find them, I had never gone out of my way to do so, and so had missed out on these extensions of the characters’ stories. As far as the epilogues go, I enjoyed how each one was unique and helped to build just a little bit more of what happened to each couple. I think part of the reason I hadn’t gone out of my way to find these was that I just assumed they were extra “spicy” scenes for each couple, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that that really wasn’t the case. Each epilogue was emotional, meaningful, and poignant in its own way.
Now on to the first story that appears here, One Night in Foxbrooke. I had already read this one, but it was a pleasant reread. I’m going to plagiarize myself a bit here by copying in my original review for that one below.
For how short this one was, I was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked it. I think it helped that it was friends to enemies to lovers, so you knew these characters already had a long and established relationship and this was just a glimpse of how it all came together. Now, on to the best part: everything Star Wars. Based on the character names, I knew I was going to get some references (that is the whole reason I decided to read this book). However, I was unprepared for just how much was direct quotations or sly references to everything Star Wars. I just love the idea that the parents were such big fans that they named their twins Luke and Leia and then raised them to be able to quote any and all Star Wars movies at the drop of a hat. This is the kind of parent I would be if I had kids. May it be a bit much for some people? Yes. Is it perfect for fans of both romance novels and the Star Wars franchise? Absolutely. The biggest downside for me is that it’s not longer.
