"I was a predator and a parasite, and I denounced any Creator who allowed monsters like me to prey on beautiful creatures like her."
Silver Blo0d, the highly anticipated prequel to #thegoldblo0dseriess that started with the book Inked, where we, the readers, met Talia, tells the story of Zayn, her smoking hot boss. We get his point of view and what point of view it is! Zayn, when we meet him, already loathes his existence. He would happily kill himself to end his servitude to Sol, the Incubus Mobster, who owns him through a Rune that controls him even when Sol is nowhere to be found. If he even thinks about harming himself, Sol, or one of his overweening offspring, the Rune flares and causes Zayn agonizing pain. His life had very little purpose until one day Talia walks into Zayn's Tattoo Studio and life and his world is turned inside out. Watching Zayn struggle with himself and "the beast" as he calls his baser nature, and how much he shames himself for his past made it hard to read his story. His self hatred knowing how far he is going to go made me want to shout at him. But, knowing where he ends up and watching him get there is half the fun. And would he or wouldn't he have made the same decisions if it wasn't for everyone's favorite Jungle Chicken π¦ Biscuit who deserves all the almonds for his role in getting Talia through the interdimensional filing cabinet.
Now I'm wondering what order people are going to suggest reading the books?
A) Start with TGBS & the Silver Blo0d?
B) Read Inked, Silver Blo0d and then the rest of TGBS?
C) Start with Silver Blo0d series and then TGBS.
The word Cockπ is mentioned A LOT in this book and not in reference to the farm animal.
