Wow what a ride ! Closing The Spirit Well after reading the last page left me happy and really curious about the future whereabouts of the three main characters. R.K. Ashwick’s storytelling is truly enchanting with a wonderful world building and a beautiful and poetic prose. While the first book of the series, the Stray Spirit, was more adventurous following a classic Fantasy quest, The Spirit Well is a mix of mystery and romance, as Emry, Cal and Aspen do their best to discover who is endangering the nature spirits of Matlock.

Saying I am in love with this series is little to say. I love R.K. Ashwick books’ unique musical atmosphere and the originality of their stories. Lutesong is a cozy read full of humor and unexpected events that leave you wanting to take a walk in the forest and maybe cross the path of a friendly spirit like Aspen.
