I was so lucky to receive an ARC of this book from T.J. Klune, and I'm so so thankful. I started reading the Green Creek series this month, and it has now become one of my favorite series of all time and it has such a special place in my heart, and I'm so happy that I got to read this finale a little bit early.
And what an amazing finale it was, it was satisfying, tragic, romantic, and the ending that all these characters deserved. I cried multiple times while reading.
In this book, we follow Carter as he desperately tries to find Gavin, his mate, even if it means him leaving his family, his pack, behind. Already in the first few pages, I was surprised how quickly the story started and how quickly I got into it, all of the previous books in this series usually started slowly, it usually took a few pages to get into.
The book overall had great pacing, everything, the characters, the plot, had the page time it needed and deserved.
I was very curious about what the romance would be like in this book (mostly because we didn't know a lot about Gavin in the previous books) and I enjoyed how the relationship between him and Carter developed over the story, it felt natural, it was very slow-burn and angsty, kind of similar to Mark and Gordo in [b:Ravensong|35114241|Ravensong (Green Creek, #2)|T.J. Something that I was scared about was if everyone in the pack was going to get enough page-time since this was the final book in the series and because we start the book with Carter being away from them, and I think all of the characters had importance in the end, which I loved.
It was an amazing finale, again, this series is one of my new favorites and can't wait to reread all of them in the future. Personally, the first book is still my favorite, because I love Ox so much and he was my favorite out of all of the protagonists, but this one was also really good.
